I've never been to Oaxaca but I just booked this hotel. It has a nice write up in Moon Handbook and Lonely Planet and a very positive review in the Trip Advisor forum section.

I am not sure we are talking about the same place. But I often check out hotels when I am planning group trips to Oaxaca. If this is the one I am thinking of it is a high end place close to the Zocalo but not in a particularily good location. It is right by the Pemex station in the centro. It is a remade ex-convent, very nice inside. Very nice well appointed rooms. Again- I am not 100 percent sure we are talking about the same place.
