Nervous about LAN Peru's frequent shedule changes

Hi,

Does anyone else have a similar experience with LAN Peru? We've been getting many notices of schedule changes on the flight from Lima to Peru as well as from Juliaca to Lima. Like 3 changes in flight schedule for the first and 2 for the latter. This is for our trip in May.

This is making me nervous as it could affect our travels. Not sure whether we could book for an advanced airport pickup when the schedule keeps on changing like this. And more importantly, whether the flights will be canceled since they seem to be so flakey.

Did other travelers also see frequent flight schedule changes from LAN?

Please share your experiences. Thanks!

I'm curious if these are big changes in arrival and departure times, and how long ago did you book these flights? If it has been quite awhile, schedules do change with all airlines.

I will say that LAN is a top-notch airline and is very well run. I have flown with them many times over the years and have a lot of confidence in them. I honestly think you can too.

We just returned from SA and used LAN a lot. It's a very nice airline. Don't worry too much about the schedule changes--seem to happen all the time. They do have numerous flights, so you'll likely be able to get a convenient one.

We had a schedule change on one of the three LAN flights that we took in March.

Our flight was scheduled for 3PM and they put us on a flight at 6PM even though there were flights at 4 & 5PM. I asked if we could be put on one of those earlier flights and was told no because we purchased a non-changeable ticket. I replied that they broke the contract by changing the time so they put us on stand-by for the other fully booked flights. As it turned out the 4PM flight was still sitting on the ground when we left at 6PM.

I suggest you check your flight status on the LAN website the day or two before.

I'm booked on LAN for June and in 3 months time I've seen about 3 schedule changes. No drastic changes, in fact they've all been better than what I had before. I arranged an airport pick-up and I was assured the driver will check my schedule for changes before picking me up. I'm sure such drivers have seen changes before so they know to check schedules in advance.

Please try not to worry, I think you'll be OK.

Thanks for your reassurance. I hope the flights would work out ok.

It's not just LAN - I booked a flight with Delta to Vancouver last year (about 6 months early) - and the details changed about 32 times.... Each change was only by minutes, or equipment changes - but don't think it's just a LAN thing.... I think they're a good airline - I've not had problems with them before....
