### NEED TRIP INSURANCE COMPANY ###

Hi! Going to Costa Rica and my husband has a family member maybe in her last stage of cancer, no one can tell how long one can go on like this. We leave for CR 29 April for 10 days, friends getting married there and we will make a vacation out of it with our two kids, ages 11 + 8,

ANY SUGGESTIONS for reliable TRIP INSURANCE company? I must find out what it will cover as we gave deposits with credit card to all our hotels, rental car and some activities. ANY ADVISE?? I appreciate it.

Travel Guard is good. Be careful though, as not all policies cover returning unless the death is of an immediate family member. Get it in writing that you'll be covered.

insuremytrip.com is a good site to compare different companies. If my recall is correct this site also gives the rating on each company.

Another thing to be especially careful of in your case is the exclusions on pre existing conditions. Companies do vary greatly.

We always buy trip insurance, but cannot tell you which would be best, since fortunately we have never had to use it.

Have a great trip and Best Wishes on your upcoming marriage.

We have checked out insuremytrip.com and it is a great resource. Sometime Travel Guard has been the best insurance for us and sometimes Travelex. Either way, it is great to be able to compare. Haven't ever had to use it, but we came close one time.

jcasale: Do you have a web address for Travelex? Had no problem to get into Travelguard.com but would like to check out the other. Thank you!
