Looks like a great itinerary. There is no bus from Ollanta to Aguas Calientes - just train. You're really getting to see a lot - will have a great time.

I take it when you say "event," it's a place on an itinerary of an organized tour?

You're going to get to see a lot, and it looks like a terrific view of all the highlights of southern Peru. It should be a great trip. When are you going?

Your itinerary looks fine for the most part but be prepared for the likelihood of altitude sickness in Cusco as it can affect some people quite badly - I was one! We were there last November and would've loved to be able to explore but was too sick to get about. Pills called Sorojich (or similar, I can't remember exactly) are freely available at local pharmacies and worked liked magic!
The only thing in your itinerary I would question is the 2 nights in Puno as well as your 1 night on Amantani as Puno is NOT a very attractive place and the lake is very polluted until you get out beyond the reeds to the reed islands (which are very interesting). We didn't go to Amantani but just did a day tour to Sun Island on the way to La Paz in Bolivia but I would drop a night off staying in Puno if at all possible.
Ollantaytambo and surrounding country is really beautiful and the train ride to Aguas Calientes is very scenic, you'll enjoy it. Machu Picchu of course is amazing though getting a little over-touristed unfortunately, but then we all want to see it don't we?!!
Just a tip: the markets at Aguas Calientes are very good, I bought heaps of stuff for presents to bring home there but do not buy when the train has just arrived as the prices stay high, but wait till later in the afternoon when it's quieter and you will get a much better price - bargain hard and keep your sense of humour and you'll do well!
Puerto Maldonado and the jungle are HOT! but very interesting and enjoyable all the same but mosquitos are bad so make sure you have plenty of STRONG repellent.
Enjoy your trip!

If you're doing an overnight homestay on Amantani or Taquile (which I'd recommend!), you'll have a hard time dropping a night from Puno. You need to spend the night before the boat trip (since it leaves at 8 in the morning) and the next day you don't get back to Puno until late afternoon (around 4, as I remember). We had considered trying to fly back to Lima from Juliaca on the day we got back from the boat trip, but decided we didn't have time to make the flight, which was originally scheduled for 6:15 but ended up being moved back to about 4:30 - so it was a good thing we changed our plans. The two nights in Puno are almost unavoidable if you want to fly somewhere else (the airport is about an hour away or maybe a bit more). I suppose you could go somewhere via bus after getting back to Puno, but it's late in the day, so I don't know.
