need help selecting a beach
Hi,
We are staying in Costa Rica for 2 weeks. Sjose to Torteguero for 2 nts, 2nts Arenal, 3nts Santa Elena, and then off to a beach for some r&r. We have 2 teenage boys with us who may want to try their hand at surfing, but at least be able to boogie board. My husband and I would rather lie on the beach. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We came back after 4 weeks in CR.
If you rent a car, only 4WD!! Try Tricolor car rental, they are the most reasonable.
The best beaches for you are Nosara , Samara, Playa Grande and Tamarindo. Georges white sand, long, empty beach, nice place.

Sounds like you are looking for the Nicoya Peninsula. Good surf, many nearly deserted beaches, a few fun and funky beach towns
To add to the above - Santa Teresa/MalPais area.
Since you have a week you may want to try a couple of areas on the Nicoya.
Montezuma is also a fun place.
Here is a website you may find useful.

While in Montezuma, we stayed at the El Sano Banano which is now the Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, we were just steps from the beach. There are a few beach suites. The suites have two double beds and a king in the loft. That might work.
Step daughter stayed at Tropico Latino in Santa Teresa or MalPais (I get them confused!) She loved it.
