Need a hotel in Monteverde

My trip to Costa Rica is all set with the exception of a hotel in Monteverde. There seems to be one complaint or another about every hotel in this area!!!!! Can someone recommend something nice for 3 nights for myself, husand and 2 teenage sons???

I LOVED the Fonda Vela. The Jr Suite was HUGE and the staff there is wonderful.

Hello Janie, Monteverde has a lot of accommodations. A good hotel in mid rage is Trapp Family Lodge, close to the reserve entry. See locations of all accommodations of Monteverde on my website.
Saludos

We also had a jr. suite at the Fonda Vela and enjoyed it a lot. Hotel staff members were very helpful and accomodating. The restaurant was very good as well. We were there January last year.

We really liked the Hotel Belmar (but the food is not very good). They're more environmentally conscious than some of the other hotels.

I heard El Establo is also nice. Have a great time in Monteverde. I suggest that take the night walk tours. We saw many animals during those tours including the Quezal.
