Move to Panama ?

I realize this is a travel site but I would appreciate any feedback from American and Canadian expats that now reside in Panama. I have heard many good things about living in Panama and i am considering the Boquete area. Specifically I am interested in the weather, housing costs, taxes, medical and any oyher topics of interest to a 65 year old married retiree. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
There is an actual website about Canadian expats living in Panama....

I'll locate it and post it here. I've been 2x to Panama & love it....

4x to Costa Rica & love it as well but think Panama has the edge for me!

Curious 12, as I'm also eyeing retiring south of the border, why Panama? Have you been there or what have you heard? Just interested.

I read an interesting comparison between retirement in Panama and in Belize a year or so ago by Lan Sluder. You might check out his website and see if you can find it, or email him about it. Happy trails!

Jette-Panama has been touted by AARP and other institutions as one of the top areas for American retirees. Supposidly there are numerous tax benefits from the Panama government to entice retirees from north america.I am having a difficult time obtaining good information, however.
