Jeff, there are ATMs and money exchange places in the airport. The system is called Redbanc. Mastercard and Visa are the most common cards here. Go to the website, click english version, and you can practice on the simulator:

Jeff, you might want to check with your credit card company about fees. Getting currency with a credit card tends to be quite expensive as they will charge you for a cash advance. A debit card (ATM card) on the other hand is usually the best way to go.

ATMs are everywhere. Most have the choice of English translations. Don't do what I did though.. The machines in South America dispense the cash and THEN the card (unlike teh UK where you take your card and then the cash. Stupidly, I managed to lose TWO cards like this!!

If you have debit cards with both a MasterCard and a Visa you might want to bring one of each. There was a regional bank in Punta Arenas Which I think did not accept Visa, only MC.
You can pay the entry tax with a credit card, too.
