My daughter fowarded the recent article in the Austin Statesman and I responded to the staff writer whom I think has an interest in the venture.
Anyway, as you know, you can buy the "San Miguel Cocktail Combat boots" for $275. - $300. MXN (maybe $25.70 - $28.04 US) in any of the many retail outlets last I looked several months ago.
At that time the price for a dozen or more pairs - could be diff sizes, styles and colors - was quoted as $180. MXN (roughly $16.82 US) per pair.
Those prices included the IVA/VAT at the time.
I don't think they will ship directly, but you can walk in to the "factory" on Calzada de la Luz just E of Loreto and dig through their entire stock/inventory.
SO will be in the US until the third week in Oct, but she may be willing to do the local leg work for you as she will probably need to send some to friends for the holidays.

Judy,
As I recall you are in Austin.
The Builder of my new house drives/flys back and forth a couple times a month as he is building many more.
He would be willing to transport if he is driving.
He lives on Overlook Pass zip 78738 far west I think.

SO just told me that they will not ship directly. You might ask someone to purchase what you need and have them "muled" back as commercial shipping is expensive.
I just bought a (nice quality) Pinade hojas for a friend: The item was $83. and shipping via fedex to Alabama was $44.

Seriously, the immersion program at www.ahaspeakspanish.com will keep them very busy, totally involved and away from many temptations.

Gracias for your reply. I have run a pretty tight ship in past years and have a zero tolerance policy for temptation. With regards to the school, do they offer home stays which is the most important component, in my opinion. Lastly, can you recommend a decent ($70- 90 )hotel for our adult chaperones near the center of the city.

SrFlojo,
Visit their (AHA's) web site and www.tripadvisor.com San Miguel de Allende forum and enter anything you want in the search function.
The best B&Bs are a bit more, but there will be plenty for less, especially for longer term stays.
If you have further questions, just ask here or on the TA forum.
