Manuel Antonio Transportation Question

From a transportation standpoint, is there any advantage to staying in Quepos as opposed to the hotels along the road to Manuel Antonio Park? In other words, if I need to easily get back and forth from my hotel to the park entrance once or twice a day, is it better to stay in one of those locations over the other? I won't have a rental car, and will be relying on use bus, taxi, shuttle, etc. Thanks for any help.

I'd definitely stay in the hotels on the road to the park - close to the park and more picturesque. Taxis are cheap and easy to get. We always just had our hotel call one for us; our most expensive fare was $5.

Stay along the road into the park. Taxis are cheap, the bus is even cheaper.

We stayed along the road and were able to walk to most of the restaurants we wanted to go to. Things are pretty close together in MA. We hired a guide for the park, and he came and picked us up.

I agree with the others. Easier to grab a cab or bus if needed. Also easy to walk to a lot of places such as restaurants, etc. And the views are better.
