Manuel Antonio
We are going to be staying in Manuel Antonio for three days and were wondering if there are any other places in the area that are worth driving to. We will have a car so transportation is not an issue. Thanks.

We liked Biesanz beach located off the road down a path. It is a quite sandy cove with hills rising up from the water. More relaxed and peacful than the large public beach in Manuel Antonio village. The road down to it comes off the main drag between Quepos and MA at the sign to La Mariposa Hotel. Stay to the right. There is on road parking and an attendant?? was there asking for $ to keep an eye on our vehicle. Park uniformed attendant was at the beach. The path was 5 minutes walk.
Carara Nat Park about an hour north is good for early birding or a stop on the river bridge to see the Crocs.

If you do Biesanz Beach, try to check the tide report before you go. We hiked all the way down there from Mango Moon and when we got there, there was no beach to speak of because it was high tide. We did see a lot of capuchins there, so not a total loss, but we were still bummed.

On the road out through Londres about 1 hour of really amazing scenery and proper off-roading you get to Reserva Los Campesinos. An incredible indiana jones type bridge across a river 40 mts down. waterfalls and a spectacular walk up a hill to incredible views. its out of the way but fun and definately worth going to but you definatly need a 4 *4.
