Manuel Antonio

Quick question, I'm headed to Costa Rica on Thursday Dec. 23rd with the family. We will be staying near Esterillos and plan to spend a day at Manuel Antonio Park. Are there public showers available near the park? We would like to spend the day at the park and then eat at El Gran Escape or Karola's.

Danno,
When we visited MA last year, there was no public shower on the public beach near the Park. I remember this because it was slightly inconvenient.

Thanks, Oleg. I thought that may be the case. We'll turn our shirts inside out when we go to dinner!

Don't know about the Gran Escape, but Karola's although nice, is very casual. If you're going to spend the whole day at the park, maybe you could put an extra shirt in a backpack or something so that you could also carry in a towel, sunscreen, water, etc?

Danno: Just an idea ... The Karahe Hotel/Restaurant is a short walk from the park. Walk (or actually you can drive to it also) to the Karahe, have a cold drink, snack or meal, jump in their pool and then rinse off in their freshwater outdoor shower. Bring a change of clothes as Ally suggested and use the restroom next to the pool to change. Most establishments have no problem w/ people using their pool and outdoor shower if they purchase something.

PS: What day will you be at the park? FYI It is closed on Monday.

But there actually are outdoor showers inside the park . Used them a bunch to rinse off this November . They are along the path on beach number 3 . Your restaurant choices are great ,El Gran Escape a landmark and famous for its fish . Karolas is SUPER , and has super ambience and a large , varied , yummy , menu !!!! Lucky you ! Faith

Ally, We will definently bring a change of clothes. The inside out shirt was an old college trick!

Lisa, Thanks for the food then pool idea. I heard that the park is closed on Mondays. Thanks for the FYI. I'm figuring that we will head down on Tuesday morning. Sounds like Karahe might be the place for lunch.

Faith, thanks, that's great news!
