Loved Inketerra's Amazon & Machu Picchu properties

We just got back from a family trip to Peru- a short one week during the kids school break. Stayed at Inketerra Reserva Amazonica and Machu Picchu properties and both were wonderful. However, for an unforgettable experience the Reserva Amazonica property is in a league of its own. Also stayed at Sol y Luna in the Sacred Valley and Casa Andina Private Collection in Cusco and both were very good. Horseback riding in the Sacred Valley is extraordinary. Other highlights were climbing Huayna Picchu and of course the whole MP experience. A truly magical place. The Sanchuary Lodge where we did not stay, but visited was disappointing- I could not believe the prices for what ended up looking/feeling like a bus station motel.

A wonderful, though rushed trip. Continental, LAN and Peru Rail were exactly on time so that helped. Loved the people we met and hope to go back soon.

Inkaterra Pueblo at Aguas Calientes is one of my favorite places to stay in the world (and I've been to tons of places.) I agree, it really is special.

Glad you had a great trip. We're going to the Reserva Amazonica next May...what type of cabana did you have? I'm trying to decide between the Superior Rio, which the only negative I've heard is that they're close together so don't have much privacy, vs. the Amazonica suite. We're planning to spend three nights there...do you recommend any special excursions? Thanks for the info!

This sounds like exactly what we are doing in December/Jan this upcoming. Lima, Inkaterra Amazon, Cuzco, Sol y Luna and then Inkaterra Agues Calientes and then Galapagos. I'm struggling with clothes and thinking that all I should be taking is synthetic shirts/t-shirts/tanks and three pairs of zip-off leg pants with hiking boots and tevas. Any tips - anything we should know??
Thanks

Hi,
I saw in your entry that you did horseback riding. Did you go thru Hotel sol y luna's stables? If so did you do 1/2day or full day trip. We are planning to ride but not sure where or for how long. Thanks
