Los Cabos or Cancun?

Help. Was thinking to stay for a long weekend at Presidente Inter-continental all inclusive in Los Cabos. Alittle scared of Los Cabos after reading some posts. Should we opt for Cancun instead. Looking for sun and relaxation, laurie

If you are going to an all-inclusive, I don't think it matters whether you go to Cancun or Cabo, you won't see much of either one unless you make an effort. If you are set on swimming at a beach I would recommend Cancun, however; a lot of Cabo beaches are rocky or have rough tides and the water is colder. What in particular scares you off from Cabo? I personally am not a big fan of either place (there are many places in Mexico I like better) but if you are looking for just a pretty hotel and sunny weather, either one should be OK.

Fellow worker just stayed at the Presidente in Cabo and gave a glowing report--great food, rooms, fun, pools, etc. But as texasgirl said, beach is a little rougher than Cancun.

Thanks, y'all! On another board someone replied they wouldn't go to Cabo if it was free!! Hmmmmmm...
Think I will go ahead and book presidente inter-continental in Cabo area. Seems like a really good deal with companion flies free with Delta and 4th night free at hotel. More advice is welcome!

Laurie:

We stayed at the Presidente 1 1/2 yrs ago and enjoyed it. Ask for the Mexican coffee at the smaller restaurant; it involves flames and theatrics.

Also, there is a *great* cove nearby for snorkeling. Santa Maria -- I believe it's called -- it's on the way to Los Cabos. Be sure to ask the concierge, they will know what I'm talking about. There are few signs and there were few people, we rented the equipment from a man under an umbrella on the beach. As soon as we got into the water, we saw beautiful fish and reefs, etc. (We rented a car from the hotel for one day of our visit).

Hope you have a good time!
Cabo is an absolute must for Labor Day weekend (actually that's the best time of the year

You are a bit in hurricane or at least rainy season around Labor day for Cancun

(Cancun is at its best in January)
