Restaurant advice in and around Punta Mita

We are heading to Punta Mita in November and staying at the St. Regis. We're interested in a mix of casual and formal (relatively) dining options either on property or off. The restaurants at the St. Regis seem to get better reviews but the Aramara restaurant at the Four Seasons sounds interesting. We have four nights so thinking the following and appreciate any thoughts:

Formal evening - Aramara (FS) or Carolina (St. Regis)

Italian night out - Mezzogornio (Bucrias) or Casa Teresa (Punta Mita)

Las Marietes - casual Mexican at the St. Regis

Fourth night - undecided. Thought about Cafe des Artiste as we loved the original years ago in Puerto Vallarta but not sure how the "new" one in Punta Mita stacks up as don't think we want to go all the way into Puerto Vallarta for dinner.

Any other "can't miss" spots? Thanks for the advice.

Hi TJ! I am the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at The St. Regis Punta Mita. Obviously, I highly recommend experiencing Carolina (the only Five Diamond restaurant on the pacific coast of Mexico). You can find a review of the Tasting Menu of Sylvain Debois (our Executive Chef) posted by a recent food-critic guest here: http://www.thediningexperience.org/?p=7936

But as far as eating outside of the resort, I would highly recommend Sufi http://bit.ly/QISCVr and Casa Teresa http://bit.ly/QISIwm if you like Italian.

If you'd like any more of our recommendations, you can always reach us in real time on Twitter @StRegisPMita. We look forward to welcoming you!

Cheers,

Hi TJ, We have a place near Punta Mita and here are our recommendations:

Inside gates of Punta Mita: Sufi & Bahia (Four Seasons)

Outside gates: Cafe des Artists Punta Mita - upscale
Italian: Villagio -Punta Mita or Casa Teresa - casual

Mezziogiorno has nice ambiance, but it's a 30 min drive
and food is good, but not great.

Sandzibar in La Cruz: Fabulous! with great casual atmosphere!

Masala in La Cruz: Fabulous!

Have a great trip!
