I am hoping that people here may be able to help me determine a good location to study for the next couple months. I am from the USA, and will be studying for the Bar Exam (for lawyers) for the next 2ish months, and would like to do this somewhere in Latin America. I've traveled to Argentina, Colombia, and Nicaragua, and loved each in different ways. So, I am hoping to combine the necessity of two months of study with an amazing location that I will enjoy in my downtime (for which I have this unique oppotunity--it will probably be a long time before I can take another vacation once I start work).

I basically have a list of factors, and hoping to get some advice/suggestions based on them for a location to study. I list them below, in rough order of important (most important at top). However, I realize that no one location likely has ALL of these, so I know some may need to give.

FYI: I am young and a big, jacked 25 year old male. Enjoy getting wasted and partying etc more so than experiencing history/museum-sort of stuff.

0. Preliminarily - my time frame will be ASAP until the exam in late July. After that, I will pack up and continue to travel for the next month or so wherever my heart takes me, with zero obligations. This also means the Southern Hemisphere will be in the middle of winter.

1. Internet - this is definitely #1 factor. I *NEED* quality internet that can stream videos. My Bar Exam prep course is entirely online, with many video lectures, and I need daily access to this. In my experience, some towns will periodically lose internet, or electricity entirely, which would be a disaster for me.

2. Spanish speaking - I speak intermediate Spanish, and hope to also use this time to continue my quest for Spanish fluency (so, preferably not somewhere like the impressions I have of e.g. Belize/Costa Rica). The less English the better tbh.

3. Coastal - I love the beach, and would much rather be on the coast than up in the mountains where it is cold. I much prefer to be tanning in my spare time and wearing flip flops around.

***********************honestly I am getting extremely frustrated with this forum. I am getting an error every time I try to post. I think it may be for "obscenities," even though I edited obscenities, So I'll just post the headings below, without any explanation:

4. Not dominated by tourists

5. City/nightlife/fun

The above 1-5 are my main points of focus. Some other things I've thought of, which are more things I hope to find, but definitely far from a deal breaker.

6. Language learning

7. Living in a shared house or similar (not with a family tho)

9. Cost

10. Gym

11. Chef

I am looking to book a plane ticket and leave the country ASAP, as soon as I find a destination. I don't know much outside of the countries I've traveled to, or even the cities I've been to in those countries. I am open to just about anywhere. I don't know much about Panama, but thought it may fit the bill, but it also seems to be a really popular American vacation destination, maybe? I would realllllllllly not like to get down there and feel like I am in Florida. Or maybe someplace like Habana? Same concern applies there though. I am certainly open to the Carribean Islands, but I don't know much about them, other than there are American resorts on a lot of them.

Thanks for any help!!!!!!

My full post can be found here: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntr...study-location

I had to remove a lot because of absurd language filters -- I could not even figure out what words were not allowed, despite removing profanities.
