leaving this thurs. need info on punta islita and playa conchal
We have booked three nights at Punta Islita and 3 nights at Playa Conchal. We have two kids and wanted to know about the experience. We have traveled all over the world and do expect value for the $$$. We are not crazy about big hotels, but thought the kids would love playa. We always stay at boutique hotels. Would like 4/5 star accommadations. What are we in for?
Please help

You won't be disappointed with either place. We just returned from Mal Pais and Sta. Teresa, which are both south of Punta Islita, and the area is beautiful. Several times we have stayed the weekend at Paradisus Playa Conchal and have found it to be very relaxing. . .and a great place for kids. Lots to do. . good staff. I don't know how old your children are, but the Kids' Club staff (some of whom we know) do a great job of entertaining day and night. Never have seen anyone there who looked like they weren't having a great time!

shillmac,
Thank you for your help.I have read some info and it seems as thought it is 50/50. My kids are 7 and 12. I am confused because we did not want to have an "Americanized" experience with them. We really like small upscale hotels and I wish we could have both. Any other ideas? How far of a drive is Mal Pais from Libera? Some said 2 hours, but it sure looks a lot longer, and I know the roads are not so great...Thanks again for the info.
