Lava flow and hotels
Does anyone know if the Lost Iguana or Montana de Fuego hotels have a good view this time of year? We are going next weekend and haven't yet booked a hotel. We are planning to pick up a car in San Jose and drive up to Arenal. Is the drive manageable? It seems from previous posts that we should count on about a 4 hr. drive.
Thank you for your help. This is a last minute trip and we are scrambling to make reservations.

We were at Lost Iguana last week and found it did not have a lava view.
Cangrega Lodge is a no-frill motel (if you are lux traveller, don't go there) located opposite the lava flow area. Room rate starts at $60 per night for two. Tel: 506-460-5998. At right hand side before Tabacon if you drive from LaFortuna.
