Las Brisas - Acapulco Mexico

19 years ago we stayed at the Las Brisas Resort in Acapulco Mexico for our honeymoon. We are now planning our 20th wedding anniversary and are again considering the Las Brisas. Throughout the years we have recalled so many beautiful and wonderful times that we had there originally. Our trip was perfect from the time we left the states until we returned. Not a single thing went wrong. We were absolutely so mesmerized and enchanted with the resort that we want to go back but I have read some not so good things about it, such as run down, poor service and that they have even changed management and are no longer owned or part of the Westin Hotel chain.

Does anyone have any very recent experiences in stay at Las Brisas?? I would love to hear them good or bad. Thanks so much.

Hi There

I was in Acapulco over Christmas and do not recall a hotel/resort called Las Brisas.!! maybe the name has chnaged...
Is it along the strip ?
I walked up and down the strip and checked out all the hotels and their pool area , lobby etc. but you know the Brisas just does ring a bell.
Maybe more info would help.
I stayed at the Costa Club , right in the centre of the arc of Acapulco Bay.

Los Brisas is not on the "strip"--it is south toward the airport and on a hill looking back at the bay and some casitas face the ocean. It is not a walk to town, but a cheap cab ride. The views are glorius and the casitas with private plunge pools are wonderful. I agree with the lst poster--we were there about 8-10 years ago and thought the rooms needed a little touching up and the bathrooms were dated. They were very clean, but felt very 1950. I think the location of this property is a bonus and hope it is revived to its former glory. It was a one time quite a destination hotel for movie stars and movers and shakers from around the world. The service was wonderful--no complaints there.

I was in Acapulco 4 years ago and drove by the entrance to Las Brisas, where I had originally had reservations. The outside was well kept, but looked extremely dated as did all of "old" Acapulco. Perfect trips are rare and wonderful. Treasure your memories.

The hotel does still appear somewhat "dated" but that is part of the allure of Las Brisas.
You might want to check at www.tripadvisors.com, where you will find many recent reviews of Las Brisas, most of which are excellent.
I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

I agree with RobertSDF--I would definitely stay there again. When I describe Las Brisas as "dated", I don't mean run down--it is immaculate and service wonderful. It is a truly unique property with incomparable views.
