Hi Shillmac,
I was making cakes for two friend's 40th birthdays.I will be making my 40th birthday cake next week.

Here is a helpful phrase that I learned while living in the Yucatan:

Donde esta la casa de peepee?

Any idea when Glover returns? I am excited to learn about Casa Bambu.

No, I'll have to look at an e-mail to see when she said she'd be returning.
She's with Humberto & Carmen the last night before coming home, so I guess I could call them. Need to, anyway!

Happy 40th! The best is yet to come!

Donde esta la casa de peepee is a good one. I'll have to try that out this summer and see if I get any laughs--or weird looks! My students (60% Mexican) would probably get a chuckle as well. . .

I'm going to google the villa near Puerto Vallarta--just saw it on another post. Sounds like a great place for a family retreat!

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Jill,
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I hope that you are right. I would like to think that things just keep getting better.

Did you find a website on the villa in Mexico?

Do you know if there are a lot of no-seeums in Matapalo, on the beach? We got pretty badly bitten at Iguana Lodge. My husband just said if there are, he would rather skip the beach and just go to BdC. (Kind of funny since I was the one who wanted to go to BdC and my husband was the one who did not want to go on vacation with out a beach...)

Thank you so much, Hipvirgochick!!

Your birthday sounds very amazing!

I am currently planning our return to CR. I am working on a plan to convince my husband to move there (!!). I do not know if it will work, he is very practical, but I am gathering my data.

Are you getting excited for your trip? Do you leave in three weeks (!!)?

Best wishes to you!
Gem

Happy belated birthday! I have a friend who went down there a couple years ago and they ended up buying property, it's slow going getting things built but they really love it and the pics I've seen of their land is lovely.

Hi Tully!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes!! And, they are not belated yet!

I am so glad things are working out for your friends. We really want to end up there but we have to be very careful. I think that it will take us a while to come up with a plan. For us, we would be investing what we have and not extra. Also, we have to consider schooling. Our daughter is just finishing fourth grade. I have been trying to find out more about the Waldorf schools in CR. There seem to be three. They are located in: Turrialba, Playa Chiquita and Escazú. I have not heard back from any of them; so I do not know to what grade they accommodate. If any of them go high enough we will try to include them on our next trip down. It would wonderful to find a way to live there be sooner rather then later.

Have your friends had any experiences that would good advice for us? What area did they move to?

oh good, I'm early (for a change)

Not sure if she will have time, but I emailed this thread to my friend asking her to share her experiences. They are up by Tenorio.
