Jungle Resort after diving Isla Marisol in April

It's our anniversary, after diving for a week we want to spend 4 days in the Jungle. Someplace beautiful and special with authentic type accomadations ( very Comfortable), horseback riding, Mayan Ruins (Tikal) and other Adventures. Belizian type food, fun good people etc. Looked at Cave Branch Lodge, Chaa Creek, where else would you recommend, is Chan Chih Lodge to far away from Dangriga?

Chaa Creek is lovely, though a bit fancy for my taste. We thoroughly enjoyed their Macal River Jungle Camp, which I recommend if you want more of a real jungle experience and don't mind sharing a bathroom. Check out www.belizecamp.com and let me know if I can answer questions. Happy trails!

Over the years I have stayed at nearly all the jungle lodges in Belize and would rate Chan Chich, Chaa Creek, and Blancaneaux at the top, (IMO Chan Chich is the best in terms of incredible setting and wildlife) but for what you want you want you might look at Mopan River Resort. It's not exactly a jungle lodge, as it's across the river from Benque Viejo town, but it has included tours to Tikal, various other Mayan sites, Barton Creek caves, etc. and the set up there encourages a lot of interaction among guests. The cabanas are very nice, with A/C and cable TV, even.

Lan is the man/expert so I'd go w/ his advice. However, I'll throw my 2 cents into the ring. We stayed at Chaa Creek and loved it! While I know a number of people on this site enjoy the Macal River Camp, camping in perma tents and sharing a shower/bathroom is no longer my idea relaxing.

Is it going to be very hot in the Chaa Creek area in April? is it cooler in the Mountain Pine Ridge area or where? will we need air conditioning?
