Sounds like a workable plan...Colonia, Montevideo and Punta del Este are each distinctive from each other and Buenos Aires.......I suppose you know that the weather will be chillier by the end of March....not prime beach weather for Punta...
Will you take the Buquebus boats and busses for transportation?

Where will you be staying in Buenos Aires and what are your plans within the city?

Well, we were checking the weather info and we know its the end of summer but is really cold? or just warm? around 60 degrees?

We are not going just for the beach, we want just visit and relax... the plan is to take buquebus to Montevideo and visit it for half a day and then rent a car and drive to Punta del Este.

We may visit Colonia later while in Buenos Aires... there we want to visit the barrios, el Tigre, Teatro Colon, etc.

Hi, after mARCH 21 it is Fall, however you can be very lucky and have warm weather and great beach days or else...it is a toss up
I used to love the early March beach days in Punta, but that was many years ago and now the whole world has changed so much weather wise...that it is hard to tell.
Have a great trip
