Is it cold in Cancun in December?

A friend of mine just told me that when they visited Cancun in December a few years ago it was cold? We are booked to go the week after Thanksgiving, and all of the weather reports I have seen say low 80's (which is not cold to me). Can anyone shed some light here?
Thanks!!

What is cold to your friend ? Perhaps the temps dipped into the 70s - which is about as cold as it EVER gets in Cancun. 80s-90s MUCH more likely.

My husband & I were in Cancun the 1st week of December '98 and it was HOT during the day (probably high 80's to low 90's). The nights were comfortable (probably mid to high 70's). We've also been in Cancun/Playa in late Sept, early June, late April (2x) & early May and the December trip wasn't much different than any of our other trips there.

went in 2000 and in 2001 and I would say it was warm in the day and cool at night. It can be unpredictable I would say bring a jacket or something to cover your shoulders at night.
