Independent Tour Company for Argentina

We're looking for an independent type tour company for a 2 - 2 1/2 week trip to Argentina. Either a pre-arranged itinerary, or one that we can provide the itinerary and they provide hotel/air/guides/etc. We're not looking for a fully escorted type of tour. I have searched and read many posts already, but just wanted to get as much info about companies b4 giving our $'s to them. Any/all information is appreciated...even companies that you felt were not up to par!!

Dear Kywood1955: Isabel is a reliable agent who many people recommended in the forum, her e-mail adress: [email protected] She makes the arrangements for you and takes care of you during your stay in Argentina.

We just returned from a 15 day trip to BA, Bariloche and El Califate. We used Cintia at WOW Argentina for our southern itineraries as well as a number of services in BA...Cintia was just great and trip was pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise! Had a lot of back-and-forth during the planning process ..then as we refined our itinerary...great service.

We used Silvia from Argentina Tours 4U (www.argentina2rs4u.com.ar) and highly recommend her. She worked with us on the itinerary we suggested, added other suggestions, booked our in-country flights, hotels, and airport transportation. She brought all the tickets, vouchers, etc. to our hotel upon arrival even though we were a day late in arrival because of flight cancellation (the only reservation I made). She is friendly, professional, and very bilingual so telephone commmucation was very easy. The biggest convenience and time saver was that she emailed our boarding passes for the following day in-country flights to the hotels where we staying. By using web checkin at the airports, we avoided LONG lines for checkin. Everything was prepaid by money transfer or credit card, and the 19 days were flawless. We will use her again on another return to Argentina.

I have to say that while we don't use tour companies on vacations , once we have moved to Argentina, I have plans to use Cintia at WOW .. due to the amount of praise and the great experience people have posted. I like the idea of exploring my new home with her.

We are independent travelers, but do sometimes use agents for hotel and air reservations.

Have used the services of Cintia at WOW! Argentina, and wouldn't consider using anyone else. She earns your business.

Take into consideration tha WOW Argentina only works with the best and expensive hotels when you try to contract their services.

Request to travelersthat used TA service.
Can you indicate the costs of the service that you received from travel agents like Cintia for example.
If people see itinerary and cost and number of travelers - they would be able to make a quick decision whether it is in their budget to contact TA or not.
So would you be kind enough to provide that info?

PS I have no doubt about your wonderful experiences with mentioned TAs but for for what cost/service? Perhaps we are comparing apples to oranges.

gilawi01,

Thank you for pointing out an important detail about hotels. I am starting to think that WOW is for travelers who want to spent quite a bit of money, not for a budget traveler. Hoping others would reply with some examples of cost.
