Iguana Lodge or Bosque del Cabo?

We stayed at both of these lodges during our Feb 05 visit. We very much enjoyed both for different reasons.
I posted a trip report back in Feb or March of this year. Also posted a link to our pictures. If you have not already found this, you may want to click on my screen name and look back to that time frame. I believe I put both lodge names in the title of the post.
To give you a bit of background for our choice: Typically I prefer to split our travel time between forest and beach, with the beach time somewhere that I can walk directly out onto the beach. This year I was planning to stay at Bosque del Cabo and debating possibly somewhere in the mid Nicoya Pen area for our beach time, then Iguana Lodge was recommended.
This turned out to be the perfect split, without the need for an added flight over to the Pacific Coast of the Nicoya.
I cannot think of a place that I have enjoyed more than Bosque del Cabo. It is truly remarkable. The views overlooking the water are so peaceful and gorgeous. The staff and owners incredible. Beautiful birds, wonderful hiking, delicious food.
Iguana, also had wonderful owners, a good staff, delicious food, nice grounds. The draw for me to this place, was the ability to walk out of our cabin and directly out to the beach, without a climb.
If you have any specific questions about these two lodges, please ask.

dfarmer, I am leaning toward the same trip you took for this coming Feb. We are already booked at Bosque the last 4 nights. The only negative I had heard about the Iguana Lodge was that it is located relatively close to either some sort of commercial activity or some sort of municipal services "dump" (pc land fill) and the cleanliness of the water (ocean not drinking) is somewhat in question. Do you know anything about this?
Also, do you think 2 full days is enough, we also want to try and fit in the Peace Lodge our first 2 nights before heading for the OSA.

RHR - no, I have never heard or read anything like that and certainly did not see anything to indicate the conditions that you describe. Interesting, I wonder what this could be?
I think it is a wise choice in going to Iguana prior to BdC. Bosque is very very hard to leave.
Our time at Iguana was totally dedicated to being lazy on the beach. So 2 full days was good for us.
Tip - if you intend to do any kayaking, fishing and such, I would go ahead and do this while at Iguana. (Although we went offshore fishing from Bosque) Many of the activities originate in Puerto Jimenez. Iguana is only about 5 - 10 mins from PJ - cheap taxi ride. BdC is much further away and much more costly.
Another tip! At Iguana, specify a room on the 2nd floor. You will want the breeze from higher up. Oh and I did notice mosquitos here. Just in the late afternnon while sitting on the deck, remarkably most areas we have visited in CR in Feb we have never been bothered.
The grounds around Iguana are relatively small, but still very pretty - so not a lot to explore. But the beach was nearly deserted many times, which made for nice, peaceful walks on the beach. Also, if you looked at our pictures, you noticed that you do not always have direct water view from the rooms. I only mention this so that you are not disappointed. The rooms have trees in between the room and the beach, therefore blocking some of the view.
So you are starting out at Peace Lodge! Beautiful place, however not typical of Costa Rican lodgings. We ended our trip here last year, it was quite a pleasure after some rustic lodgings.
Any more questions, just ask. Wish I were going on your trip!!!!!

cannot decide??- do both as dfarmer suggests- use Iguana as a first or last night destination
BTW- Iguana is not near a dump or any sort of commercial activity- the only thing it is near is a nice beach- question whatever source gave you this impression
