Hotels In San Miguel de Allende

I will be traveling with my friend to San Miguel de Allende Oct 25-Nov 2. We are looking for a hotel within close walking distance to the center of town. We would like separate beds, a TV is a must...and A/C would be ideal. Any suggestions? Thanks

La Puertecita fit the bill for my brother and me a couple of years ago. I got an excellent rate on luxury link which included breakfast and dinner and daily Spanish classes (four hours only).

Thanks so much. It is a bit pricey. Looking to spend $200 or less per night...

My winning bid on Luxury Link was $1200 for the six days included meals and the Spanish class. Split between my brother and I it worked out very reasonably.

Maybe check out Posada de la Aldea ... I stayed there a week once in early November and it was fine.

Tripadvisor ranks it 15/41 with most of the others more expensive.

Rates on their site are 850 pesos/dbl (about $80 US). I think they have TV's in the room, not sure about AC but we didn't need it.

Not "close walking distance to the center of town", maybe 15 minutes away to the center, but close enough. Located across the street from the Instituto Allende (famed for art and language classes) on a main road coming from Leon.

Here's their site ... http://www.naftaconnect.com/hotellaaldea/ ... I think the famous Santa Fe Workshops (photo workshops based in Santa Fe, NM) are based there the week of your visit so it may be full already, but possibly they have openings.

I may be wrong about this, but I don't think you need AC in San Miguel. We were there in February and were quite chilly in the mornings and evenings.

I'm sorry I can't recall the name of our B&B, as we really enjoyed our stay.

I haven't been here yet, but I have booked Posada de las Monjas for later this year, which is quite a bit cheaper than your price range, but it is very central. You can get a room with two double beds, if any are available for your dates.
