SitC-er -- Agreed. But, green season upper unit of Mot-Mot is $225.00 plus tax and lower unit is $128.00 plus tax vs. BVV one bedroom at $295.00 plus tax...IMO Mot-Mot is a better value offering the same amenities.

Sorry Parker -- I'll be quiet now!

Also, just to clarify: there is only one Villa Mot Mot. It's not a class of accommodation, but a single villa.

For prices, excellent location & quality of the services and because it is a locally owned and managed hotel, I strongly recommend you to have a look at Cabinas Espadilla & their sister hotel: Hotel Espadilla (http://cabinasespadilla.com/) The value is unbeatable (I have stayed in many different hotels in the area and all considered think this is the best option). Especially if you wish to be close to the beach, restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park. Otherwise I much enjoyed also the Tulemar but it is way more expensive and the walk down to the beach is really long plus you are isolated here and meet no one, at least no one outside other tourists. Good luck !

I actually looked at Cabinas Espadilla and they look nice. I like staying on the beach sometimes. However, if you want a gorgious view of the Pacific and park you just must stay on the hill.

Upon your arrival at SJO, I'd like to suggest "Casita Linda" at www.vistadelvalle.com, which is just 20 minutes west of airport. GREAT location, views, restaaurant, pool, bar. I would not stay in San Jose.

We really loved La Mariposa, high on the hillside, breathtaking views, infinity pool overlooks the ocean and utterly remarkable and modern furnishings. We were there last summer and the cost was quite reasonable, relatively. We arrived after a week at La Cosinga Lodge which we loved, but perhaps were really READY for a hot shower and a de-mudding of bodies, clothes, shoes. We are a hardy, roughing-it kind of family but I just breathed in the beauty and view, the skies and pura vida.

I agree La Mansion is nice and view, customer service and breakfast is amazing. Costa Verde is economical, rooms are descent but not that luxurious, but asked for a room with view the Manuel Antonio Park. Every time I go to Costa Verde, we get to see monkeys. Enjoy!
