Hotel near Lima Airport?

My husband and I are going to Peru in mid-October--we are arriving in Lima at 11pm and plan to leave the next morning for Cusco. We'd like to stay somewhere close to the airport, but have read that the area near the airport isn't the safest. Does anyone recommend a hotel they've stayed at near the Lima airport where they felt safe? Thanks in advance!

All I remember is that we stayed at the Country Club hotel. Wonderful experience and I think about 20 mins from airport. Not on the cheap side, but we had to leave very early and they brought a super breakfast to our room at about 4:30a.m Very safe area.

The Manhattan Inn is 5 minutes from the airport. It is not in a good area but the hotel will arrange transfers for you. It is safe inside.

Hello Theresa,

We, too, are going to be in Lima for one night in late September with a morning flight for Cusco.

There is a new hotel right AT the airport. Apparently you walk from the terminal to the hotel.
It is called the Ramada Costa del Sol.
I have booked a reservation here.

Here is the info I can give you so far:

If you go to Ramada's website the cheapest rate right now is $250 US.
That was a little too steep for us.
But I found a better rate thru a booking company called Enjoy Peru.
Here is the link to book with them:
http://www.enjoyperu.com/hotels/ingles/lima/ramada/

There rates are $143 US for single, $160 US for double including taxes and buffet breakfast.

I sent my booking request via that link. It took a few days for them to respond via e-mail. Once they responded, it took about a week of e-mails back and forth to confirm the reservation.
I had to print out a form they e-mailed me with my credit card info and copies of our passports, then fax it back to them. Then it took about five more days before it was actually confirmed.
So, it was a bit of trouble, but hopefully will be worth it since we did save nearly $100.

Be aware, though, that there is a cancellation fee (30% I think) if you need to cancel.

I'll let you know what we thought of the hotel when we get back (Oct 3).
Not sure if that will help you since you'll be leaving soon after.
I figured it's a safe bet since it IS a Ramada, it's so convenient and we don't have to worry about the safety issue, getting to a hotel in the city late at night.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

Happy, safe travels

Hello Theresa
As luv2globetrot said you have a hotel in the airport. I will give the following options:

1. Villa Panchita hotel. It is a Dutch-owned hotel, located in a very safe and residencial area near the airport, the area is named San Miguel. Here you will probably spend US$ 60 per night! Of course, it is a tourist hotel with 3 stars.
2. Melia hotel. It is a 5star hotel located about half and hour from the aiport. It is not so expensive as the rest of the luxury hotels, you can find rates from 100$ per night!
3. The Ramada Costa del Sol at airport, I can find you rates from 133$ double room!!

If you want further info, contact me!
