And a salute to the brave bank guards and policemen who eventually had to settle the matter the best they could. I have been looking for more details about the robbers - if it indeed turns out that they were Nicas, this will just harden the Tico's attitudes about the whole immigration thing, unfortunately. In every bank in CR there are heavily armed guards - this can be a bit unsetting when you first see it - but now you know why.
As far as tourism goes, I wouldn't worry - this was one of those "once in a blue moon" events.
