Hmmmmm
Just wondering why I've had zero responses to my query the other day.....
This is what it said:
Message: Hi!
Planning a trip to Mexico in January. Tentatively booked at Continental Plaza Playacar, near Playa del Carmen.
Would greatly appreciate any comments regarding the place, quality of accommodation, cleanliness, food, location, beaches etc. Also suggestions for daytrips or excursions on foot would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance!!
Has no-one heard of this place? I would be so grateful for your comments.
Thnx
Tricia

I didn't see your post or I would have responded.
How was it titled?
imho, I would pick somewhere else.
I stayed at CPP about a year and a half ago and was underwhelmed with the food and service.
It reminded me of a mid-priced Myrtle Beach hotel with no personality and uncharacteristically poor service.
There are so many wonderful places to stay in the area - you could do much better.

There is a ton of things to do in that area. For water activities try Xel ha or Xcaret. Day trips to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres by ferry, or Mayan expeditions to Chitzen Itza (this will take a day) or Tulum (about 1 hr. from PDC). You can also go into Cancun and explore. Cheers, Larry.

I've stayed at this hotel years ago when it was brand new ,5* -FIRST & ONLY resort in PDC (back then downtown PDC was ONE block long)-It was nice and the beachfront was big !(couple years ago we stayed at the Riu in Playacar , we walked by Continental & saw the water came all the way to the resort buildings ,no beach left !-Check to make sure if it's changed again ? Great location though , you're at the end of PDC's "downtown" strip- can just walk right in town. There're sooooo many resorts to choose from now.
