Agreed. Sometimes people seem to ask for advice but they only want validation for what they've already planned with no apparent willingness to take advice seriously. Sort of sad so many people spent so much time responding when it is falling on deaf ears.

Thank you Maryanntex for your suggestions on restaurants. We will check them out.
TC: Thanks for taking the time to break down our trip by number of days but we will probably not visit Guanajuato and the butterfuly sanctuary. With that, I think we should be fine.
As for the surprising contributors who are being mean spirited and second guessing why I posted my inquiry, I appreciate all responses but lack of a response on my part could have a myriad reasons none of which in this case was to ignore anyone's advise. Being generous enough to post a response to an inquiry does not give you the right to be rude or to second guess the motives behind an inquiry.

monsoon - I'm really not a mean spirited person and apologize for my tart reponse. I know it's hard to pick from so many wonderful options but it pains many of us who love Latin America to see people planning trips that require so much movement you're like to miss the laid back ambiance and connections with locals - reasons we keep returning. I hope your trip is everything you want it to be.
