Help With Manuel Antonio Hotels?

We are going to MA in Feb. and will be staying for a week. We are four middle aged women who will be spending little time in the rooms as we like to be active. We are looking for a very nice place with a
pool and walking distance to a beach. The rooms need not be large or a suite as we won't be in them much but we like a very clean place with a nice bathroom. We will probably only eat breakfast at the hotel. We don't want to be with all honeymooners or children. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

If you're not looking for anything too fancy, maybe the Hotel/Cabinas Espadilla might suit your needs. Very close to the beach & MA park. http://www.espadilla.com/ Have not stayed there but walked past it a couple times & it looked nice enough.

Another possibility is La Colina although it is further away, but easily accessible to the beach & park by taxi or bus.

Thanks tully! We are looking for a hotel that is on the higher end but not necessarily a huge resort with spa, etc.. Do either of these fit this description? We will probably have a car.

I think you will have a hard time finding a hotel in MA that is within walking distance to the main beach or the national park. Most hotels in MA are high up in the hills, away from the beach. Keep in mind that most hotels provide shuttle transportation for their guests and taxis are readily available and inexpensive. There is also a public bus that is easy to use.

If being close to the ocean is important to you, you could try Tulemar Bungalows which has access to a private beach.

nankar, if you're looking for something nicer then I would suggest Costa Verde Hotel (stayed there & loved it), La Colina, Villas Nicolas or Tulemar. Keep in mind that most hotels in MA aren't on the beach anyway but it is easy enought to get around - the bus runs along the main road constantly & is very cheap.
