Gol Airlines - Brazilian Purchase Only?

I tried to purchase plane tickets on (Voe)Gol airlines online. On the page where you enter personal information, it allows you to choose countries other than Brazil (in my case I chose Canada). When entering my credit card info, it was expecting the CCV(?) code from the back of the credit to be 4 digits. My card only has 3 digits, so I added a 0 before it. The card was declined and I can only guess that the reason was the code discrepancy.

Can anyone confirm for me that you need a Brazilian card to make purchases on Gol?

Thanks!

I recently purchased tkts on the GOL website without a problem, using a US Amex card. For "choose countries" I think I chose "other," and the screen was in English. (However, it is very user friendly as you see, even the Portuguese page is pretty understandable.)

Try calling your credit card company and ask them if they have a suggestion. Also, GOL has an email link for questions and I think they do get back to you promptly. Ask them.

You should certainly be able to purchase the tkts from abroad. Awhile back you could only purchase tkts with a Brazilian card but GOL addressed the problem.
Good luck.

You can only use Amex to purchase tickets online for GOL. However, you can place them on reserve and pay for them when you enter the country...that's what I did. Didn't have any problems.

Just give them a call, they speak English.

Thanks for the replies. My brother is trying to see if he can get his company travel agent to book our flights for us (he works in Brazil). If that doesn't work, I'll try calling.
