Four Seasons Punta Mita help

Has anyone stayed here? We are going the end of July and don't know much about the area. Thinking about just using their transportation instead of renting a car. I feel the only thing we might need a car for is to do grocery shopping. Is there anyplace close that we could walk or taxi to for that or should we rent a car and stop on the way from the airport? Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

How many are you? This is very much a family resort in the summer.
Will you be staying in the hotel? If so I'm not sure where the access to the grocery store comes in. In the villas you might want a car, although Punta Mita is some distance from Puerto Vallarta.
Perhaps a little more about your group, what you wish to do, where (exactly) on property you're staying etc. would help.

Well you're going to be a one hour drive from Puerto Vallarta, no local store, except some small ones in El Anclote Beach. Closest big store - Walmart, is about a 30 min ride away.

Thanks everyone. We are staying in a villa and decided to order a few things and decide what to do when we get there. Using their transportation services to get there and then use a golf cart around the village. Hope it works out, haha.

Personally I wouldn't rent a car. I think it's more hassle and trouble then it's worth. I'd use the hotel transportation, or arrange your own with a driver or taxi. I thought there was a large grocery store somewhere out in Nuevo area, that would be closer than coming all the way back into PV? Anyone??

That's the Walmart I was referring to, in Nuevo, see map

but they are a 25-30min drive away.

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons hotel a couple of years ago. We did not rent a car. There's not a lot of shopping opportunities close to Punta Mita. I think you can arrange to have the driver stop at one of the big grocery stores on the way from the airport so you can stock up. You need to make those arrangements in advance, however. Having a list will help you get in and out faster. We have friends who own a condo in Punta Mita and they stop in Puerto Vallarta on the way from the airport since there isn't anything close.

I've stayed at the 4 Seasons Punta Mita. We did rent a car and were very glad we did. It's quite a drive from town, so getting around is difficult if you don't have a car, unless you want to stay right in the area. We had a fun time driving to Sayulita and around the area.
