excursions
A group of 9 will be travelling to the Paradisus Playa Conchal last week of July.
Does anybody have any recomendations for day trips ? We do not want to do the canopy tours nor do we want to travel too far.
Thanks for any help

This is Vargus Tours, Percy a frequent poster here at Fodor's highly recommends this company, and everyone else that has used them has always sung high praises.
I am not sure that they pick up at PPC but certainly worth checking.
We stayed a little further north of here on our visit to the Northern Pacific area. We rented a vehicle right at the hotel and drove ourselves around exploring. We floated the Corobici River, husband did a canopy tour. We also took a much longer drive up to Monteverde for a couple of days.
We visited the little town at Playa Coco, for just hanging out, a few meals and shopping. But the map indicates you are close to Tamarindo, which if so, will give you a larger choice of restaurants, bars, shops, etc.
Some report of a nice waterfall near to and before the Corobici, I can look for this is you would like.
There are some parks to hike nearby.
Since the PPC is a large all inclusive, it will certainly have a tour desk or two with lots of activities and excursions.
