Electrical outlets in Buenos Aries?

Can anyone tell me if the outlets are different than the US and if so what is the specific adapter necessary to convert them? I have a package of various conversions and just want to pack the one I need.

hi Juldie,
voltage - 220 European. Plugs - another story. Some are the australian - 2 slanty and 1 straight prong. But some seem to be the normal european 2 round pin kind. I never quite determined who has which kind and why but someone told me the three pronged are more common in newer buildings.... Refer to link below for plug pictures

The good thing is that if your plug does not fit to the where you are staying, adaptors are cheap and that hardware stores are are plentiful.
Laptops work fine - because they are made to be dual voltage.

Deoending upon the specific appliance you are planning to use, you might need a transformer as well as an adapter. Otherwise you might fry your hair dryer or toaster.

Apartments and hotels are often different outlets and currents so it also depends on where you are staying. Most hotels have the 2 prong outlets with 110 and 220. Adapters are readily available at stores.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. I think I will let me son deal with it when he gets there since it sounds like there are definitely a few options. He mostly is looking to charge his Ipod.
