Driving time Liberia to Nosara?

Will be flying into Liberia in Oct & would like to know the driving time to Nosara? I won 3 nights at the Paradisus Playa Conchal & we're trying to figure out where to go for the other 4. We love Playa Grande but we're going back there in Feb so I thought we'd try someplace new. Any suggestions? We're not looking for anything fancy but need to be near a surf beach for my husband. Thanks!

It depends on road condition ...during that time is the peak of the rainy season...and some times we have problems with roads being washed out...if everything is ok...it will take you about 3 hours...Liberia...Nicoya...road to Samara...take the detour to Nosara...very simple!!

Juts buckle up and enjoy the ride in paradise!!

100% costarican and proud of it!!

You could also try Avellanas (less than 2 hours to Liberia) or Negra (about 15 minutes from Avellanas). Wherever you go on the Pacific side its probably going to be really wet. Alot of businesses take a vacation in Sept and/or Oct, make sure you check and see what is going to be open. You won't need reservations and can get some really good walk-in rates.

We love Samara The town is a small village with restaurants and some stores and the beach is adjacent. It isn't fancy but you can eat at restaurants on the beach. I don't know about the surfing but it is on the way to Nosara so it is worth checking out.

We are going to Panama and someone just told me to check out your trip report. We can trade info!

After realizing I should expect a lot of rain & bad road conditions I think we'll just stay near the Tamarindo area and save Nosara for another time. (when it's not so wet) I don't usually like All Inclusives but since we're on a tight budget this trip & I can get 1 free night (ff miles) at the Barcelo Langosta, I think we'll stay there. If I split our week between the 2 hotels then we shouldn't need to rent a car because my husband can surf at Barcelo. I've also changed to Sept instead..I don't know what difference a few weeks might make as far as rain but I guess we'll find out. Any feedback on the Barcelo?
rcmk: If I can answer any Panama questions..I'd be happy to.
