Drive from tamarindo to samara?

Drive from tamarindo to samara?
Can someone tell me how long the drive from tamarindo to samara might be? We are trying to decide if we will stay in tamarindo for 4 nights or spend some time in Samara as well. Also, we are then headed to Arenal. How long is the drive Tamarindo to Arenal and Samara to Arenal. Thanks I hear the road from Tamarindo to Arenal is good now. Is that true?

The road from Tamarindo to Arenal is probably NOT good as it circles the lake, is a low road and subject to flooding, etc. It tends to stay in very poor condition. The drive around that way is close to 4 hours--maybe just a little over.
Tamarindo to Samara is close to 3 hours. Samara to Arenal is probably closer to 5 hours--haven't driven that direct route, but have driven it in parts. It's a pretty good haul.
