Hi, We will also be going to Crown Paradise in Cancun June 17-27 with two children 5 and 6. Was wondering the same questions? From, what I have read so far, it seems to be great for the children. I have read the you need to make reservations a day head a time between 4-5 for the next day. Also, that they have a excellent Kids Club. Good luck and Have a Nice Vacation. Kathy

We stayed at CP in December 2000. It is a very beautiful resort. The food was very good. My kids loved the "Wayne's Boots" restaurant. The food was great, but the entertainment is what brought us back there. There is a mechanical bull and the kids can all ride. You can request the speed of the bull from super slow to full out. If you are over 40, I don't recommend it. My husband paid for a few days!Make reservations at the specialty restaurants as soon as you are able to do so.
The ocean is pretty rough on that side, but you can go down the main road bit to a marina and try out kayaks and such for no cost. Snorkeling gear is "included", but the trip to the reef is extra, about $50 per person. We went to Tulum and Xel-ha instead. We were not impressed with xel-ha. It is murky and very few fish. I got sick from the buffet restaurant at Xel-ha. Very sick.
There is a great little ruins site directly across the main street from CP called Del Rey. It is $5US. We went early and were the only visitor there for about an hour. Don't miss it.
My kids were 10 and 12 a the time of our trip, and the kids club was geared to the primary age kids. But they did play beach baseball and some games that my kids participated in.
We felt very safe the whole trip, except when we took a bus to the market downtown Cancun. Scary. Like being on the south side of Chicago at night, not comfortable to say the least.
Hope you have a great time.

Well, the Crown Paradise is not my choice of the best hotel for a family vacation. In fact, there are too many kids running around. If you want a chair at the pool, you have to wake up at 5:00 AM and go down there and put your stuff on chairs to save them or you wont get a chair believe me! It is a real hassle. The food is mediocre and the beach has waves that pound you to death. The location of the hotel is not too great either. Its far from the downtown area so you'll spend a lot of time on buses or taxis if you go anywhere. I would recommend the Fiesta American Grand Coral Beach although it isn't all inclusive. It has a great safe beach with an almost lagoon atmosphere - calm waters for the little ones and a great pool. Security is top notch there.
