Hi Amanda,

Most do www.arenal.net

then finish at

www.manuelantoniopark.com

usually finish with some chill time at the beach.

Have fun,

It could also depend on what time your arriving and departing flights are and how you plan to get to your destinations. Maybe if you give us your arriving and departing times, that might help in making a decision.

We did San Jose to Arenal, then Arenal to MA, then MA back to San Jose. You can really do it in either order, but we wanted to do the hiking/adventurous stuff first and then relax on the beach at the end of our vacation.

We be arriving at 10:00 p.m and staying overnight in San Jose on the 3rd. On the 11th our plane leaves at 845 am so we will be back in San Jose the night of the 10th.

I agree that most people do SJO-Arenal-MA-SJO for the reasons stated above. You can't go wrong either way though.

Oh okay, since you are definitely staying the first and last nights near the airport, then it doesn't really matter much, I guess. Just personal preference as others have suggested. I don't think there would be any travel advantage to doing one first over the other, but I may be wrong. Have fun!

Hijack! Any suggestions on hotels after a late arrival at SJ (budget in mind)?

Orquideas Inn and Villa Bonita are popular. We stayed at Grano de Oro and liked it. www.granodeoro.com is their website.
