I wouldn't worry too much about the weather. Once the rainy season starts the forecast for CR is the same most of the time - chance of rain or thunderstorm everyday. On our trips (which were all in August), the forecast before we left always looked miserable, not a day of sunshine. Yet, when we get there we always have plenty of sunshine and only occassional rain.

Don't worry! Enjoy your trip.

Dear Whirldwid,
I live in Costa Rica, but not near the areas your are going to travel in. As usual the first rain was during Semana Santa (first week of April), but it only started raining regularly the last week or so around here. As Iza said, you shouldn't worry about it (especially since you can't do anything about it!). The rain is part of Costa Rica, and without it Costa Rica wouldn't be as beautiful! It shouldn't be too bad, in any case.
Feel free to write me directly for any more info.
Pura vida,
Neta Talmor

My husband has been in Nosara for a week. He's says it's HOT, HOT, HOT and HUMID. As many times as he's been there, he says this has been the hottest he's experienced and and told me to pack the lightest clothes I have to join him in a couple days. He also said one day that it 'tried' to rain, but didn't.
