Costa Rica Tour Companies

Any recommendations in regards to local tour companies in Costa Rica. Looking at booking some tours with my children (6 & 9) with either Eco Explorer CR and/ or Costa Rica For Everyone. Has anyone had any experience with either company positive or negative?

I personally haven´t had any experience with neither of these tour companies.
I have used a couple times Explornatura (www.explornatura.com), they have different adventure tours, some of them specially made for kids.

Hope this helps!

Love Desafio mentioned by Volcano Girl, great company, involved with charity work here which is awesome. I like the following companies here.

Horizontes – http://www.horizontes.com/eng/ - Very green company, offers packages, involved with community programs, great company & good folks
Crreferals – http://www.crreferrals.com/ - Great for custom planning, has packages, involved with animal rescue, good company & good folks
Caravan – http://www.caravan.com/ - Best for larger group tours up to 30. Excellent reputation and very well respected.
Costa Rica Expeditions – http://www.costaricaexpeditions.com/wl3/index.php - High end trip planner, owns some of there own lodges, has won awards, great reviews
Many more good companies but this my short list.
Cheers

We love Costa Rica Expeditions mentioned by Inca - they have great service if you can swing their prices. We used them for Tortuguero and they really were amazing. When we were boating in, they surprised us with an incredible picnic on the side of the river. They seem to really go a step beyond.

I've worked with Horizontes on some group projects and recommend them as does incabod. You can contact Melba Villalobos [email protected] for info and quotes on various activities and hotels.

When Horizontes found out that my friends and I were taking school supplies up to an earthquake damaged school in Poasito, the tour company decided to sponsor the school also. I've had very good result with them.
