Costa Rica in August

We were originally going to Costa Rica for 2 weeks around July 18th. Now we are thinking of going instead in the beginning of August. Is the weather the same as July or will the weather be worse in August?

It will probably be the same. I'm going in early August too...

I will be returning as well the first week in August. My last trip was July/Aug of 2003 and the weather was perfect. Only rained one night, but we may have just gotten lucky. I will say a prayer to the rain gods to spare us once again. Hope your trip is a great one.

Dont worry too much about the weather, it may rain some but usually later in the PM and not for very long. Aug can be a little busy with many family visitors. Good luck and have fun!

It is basically the same. Rainy in the afternoon. It is a good time to visit Costa Rica, but make reservations in advance, because it getīs very crowded.

My family went last August...rained everyday and it never got in our way. I loved the thunderstorms when we were eating dinner, and it was fun standing in the forest getting wet near the end of our canopy tour...but we did most of our driving and outings earlier in the day, as everyone advises. It's not a cold rain, really not uncomfortable at all.
