Costa Rica Beach Resort recommendations for end of December

Our family of five - Mom, Dad, three teenagers will be traveling in Costa Rica from Dec 27- Jan 4. We have booked the first three nights at Lost Iguana in Arenal and want to then travel to a beach resort for the rest of the week. We are looking for a place right on the beach that is quiet yet has some activities for the kids to do and beaches where you can safely swim. Any recommendations?

Am finding that many places are already booked and after much discussion in the family we are leaning toward an all inclusive. Considered the Flamingo - but am a little concerned that the dirt road that runs between the resort and the beach will be noisy.

Buena Vista Villas / Tulemar is a great choice. Our kids loved (adults too) loved the private beach.

Would agree that Si Como No is a great family resort, but it's not "right on the beach" though it does have free shuttles to the beach which run frequently.

What about areas/hotels in the Guanacaste/Tamarindo area. Beginners looking to surf. Any resorts/nice hotels you can recommend.
