Copan, Honduras

Does anyone have any info on Copan? I am considering a short visit in February whereby I'd fly to San Pedro Sula, take the Hedmanalas (sp?) bus to Copan, and then take the bus to Guatemala City to fly home. Looking for info on the ruins, hotel info for Copan, etc. Thanks

I spent a couple of weeks in Copan Ruinas last summer and had a wonderful time. Here are links to the Sidewalk Mystic version of my trip report and Honduras Tips Magazine. Let me know if I can answer specific questions. I hope you enjoy the area as much as I did! Happy trails...

Thanks, your trip report is very helpful (I had found the www.honduras.com thru google, but thanks very much for thinking of sharing). I'm thinking of visiting end February, but only for a long weekend from NY. Thanks

Leaving tomorrow. Any last minutes tips? I don't have anything booked, but I'm hoping I can find a hotel when I get to Copan. Thanks

If you have the chance and desire for nice stone carvings, check out the display Carlos has just inside the door of the Mercado Artensenal on the north side of the parque central. He may not remember me, but tell him Stacey from Oregon who was there last summer and has a son named Carlos says "hi" and is really enjoying the carvings she purchased. His picture is on the Sidewalk Mystic/Copan page linked above.

Have a wonderful trip - if you enjoy the area even half as much as I did, you will.
