Cheap Airfare - US to Costa Rica

I'm trying to set up a trip to Costa Rica for US Thanksgiving time (week around Nov 28). Does anyone know of any ways to find cheap airline tickets?

We used www.flycheapol.com for our trip last year. We got a great price and they FedExed the tickets to us.

Also try Intratours. Better cost that most all I've seen!

http://www.intratours.com/start.htm

You can also try a consolidator, either on your own or through a travel agent. I've used Diplomat and WTG in the past...

Have you checked with Grupo Taca airlines? In yesterday's travel section of the newspaper (Dallas Morning News), they were advertising fares from Dallas to CR for $326 (plus taxes). I don't know what other deals are available out of other markets. I think they also fly out of LAX and Miami.
Continental Airlines just announced a sale to San Jose if you travel before December 12. For example, the fare from San Francisco to San Jose would be $431 for Thanksgiving week (or $120 less than what I paid this past June). I wish I could go - theses fares are a steal.

Mike;

From Denver you can now fly for only $370. Also on Continental. That is an excellent price!

The least expensive fare I can get from Toronto, Canada is C$852.00pp. Is this the norm from Toronto? We will be spending 3 weeks in CR.
Your response would be appreciated.

Sandra

Hi Peter and Sandra
C$852.00pp or US $535.21 is very good price from Toronto. We paid much more than that from Montreal
Don't think too long just get your tickets and have a great time once you get there

Hi Peter, Sandra:

I just sent my mom and stepdad for a week from Toronto. The deal I got them was similar to yours, around CAD$800/person, through a consolidator I use. The deal was much better than anything they found on Expedia, Travelocity, etc...

Regards,

Enrique

Check the websites of American, Continental and Delta on a regular basis for sales which happen without warning and last one day. Martin Air also has good fares out of MIA. Consolidators are risky to say the least.

Wuh-oh, kyj: Why do you say that? I'd already planned to use consolidators, for a savings of ~50%, but haven't actually booked it yet. Why risky?

Hi Kelly:

Consolidators could be risky if you don't deal with reputable companies. I've used Diplomat Tours and WTG Costa Rica before, with no problems...
