I have heard nothing but good things about CC. It is a bit far up the road for me as I stay in Old Town usually. But, there is a great bus service for jumping on and off heading south into Centro and points further south plus a little ways north before you have to transfer to another bus to go to Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias and Punta de Mita, etc. I have a restaurant guide I will send you if you wish to become familiar with places up there and other areas of the city [by email].

Is Casa Claudia in a residential area? It looks wonderful, but I don't want to be in a business area where I might be kept awake by club-goers and other late-night business patrons? Also, is it really beachfront, or do you have to walk a block or more to get to the beach?

It is on a quiet street that does not have a lot of traffic. Residential in one direction, the other side is the Buenaventura hotel--large with a lot going on. Noise was not a factor for me and I am a light sleeper. Casa Claudia is right across a small street from the beach, just a few steps actually. There is a busy street on the other side of the large block(behind the hotel which is oriented toward the water) where you can get a bus or shop. You can't hear it from Casa Claudia.

Hi Gary,
My reservation at the Casa Claudia fell through (first Different World said they had the room I wanted, then they didn't!) You mention you usually stay in the south part of town. I agree that it is the preferred area. Anywhere specifically that you've stayed that you would recommend? We prefer renting a condo, but am having trouble finding suitable accommodation in February and am open to any options. Thanks.

Amorita looks good on the website. One poster (second hand info) said it was a bit to "B&B" for them (not very private). www.casa-andrea.com is another property down near the beach in old town with ~10 units. great place if available.

Hi,
Casa Andrea was completely booked for February as was just about every other place we tried! Did finally find some accommodation in Conchos Chinas in a condo we've previously rented. Had hoped to be more central, but maybe next time. Anyone wanting to stay in PV in February, other than in an all inclusive, or out of town, should be booking right now, or probably consider going another time, if they can!

We booked Casa Andrea in May and they were fully booked for February then.
There is another hotel right across the street from them, not as nice and more American motel in style, but each room has a fridge and the location is good, smack in the middle of Olas Altas. I can't remember the name... Andrea should be able to hook you up.

The hotel across the street from Casa Andrea is the Vallarta Sun Suites. This complex has about 16 hotel rooms with frig, cable TV and telephones. There is a small very refreshing pool, loungers, towels available, purified water and 24 hour security. The hotel and rooms are the MOST spotlessly clean place I've ever seen. Then they have another complex one street south that is one bedroom suites with kitchens. I've only stayed at the hotel complex, but to say it's "not as nice" as Casa Andrea could be misleading. C.A. is more of a boutique hotel, closer to staying in someone's home or staying in a small apt.
It's my understanding that both of the Sun Suites properties have regular clientele that book there for the high season. So February may be a difficult time to find space there also.

Absolutely agree with poster above about Vallarta Sun Suites properties and about Casa Andrea.
Andrea's is charming but more like staying in someone's home. I think Sun Suites might actually offer more privacy.

Vallarta Sun phone # is 011-52-322-223-1523 (or 1529). Email addy is [email protected]. The email is hit and miss. Sometimes they respond; sometimes they don't. Good luck.
