Car Rental in Costa Rica

I see there are a lot of car rental companies in CR. What is a reliable one with good cost/benefit? Picking up the car in San Jose and returning it in another location (we are thinking Manoel Antonio) adds too much to the cost? Thanks

We used Alamo on our last trip and were happy with them. Tricolor gets a lot of good reviews as well.

Hi Mot!

Sixt are pretty good, though all the major companies (Hertz, Avis etc) are present. One Way drops are common, and fees depend on the company, though I believe Sixt don't charge for many areas, including Manuel Antonio.

I've just decided we aren't going to do a trip to CR in February, but one of the best bargains I was seeing there was a week of car rental from Budget -- even a 4 wheel drive SUV -- for around $200 including being a one way rental.

I would recommend Europe. I had no problems with their service. You can read my review and more tips for renting a car here: http://explorecostaricaonyourown.blo...osta-rica.html
