Cancun trip

Does anybody know where it is better to stay in Cancun : near Club Med or near the Omni hotel?(beach, activities etc) We also would like to take a side trip to Tikal (guatemala). Can anyone recommend a travel agency ot tour operator to visit the site?

Hi,

Cancun is recovering from the hurricanes, but is still struggling after the devastation. I am optimistic for a great future for Cancun and the Riviera Maya, but there have been some serious crimes recently in these areas. I am hesitant to recommend the area to my clients, so maybe Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan might be an alternative for you to consider.

Best Regards,
Julia

Yes, Cancun is still recoverling, but the Riviera Maya is in beautiful shape. There are many great resorts there.

I realize there was a murder at the Barcelo, but that was well south of Cancun, and Cancun is a fairly large city; I think calling whole area unsafe is not justified.

frankie,
I agree. Heck, if we stayed away from any place there was a crime, we'd never leave our houses!!!
