Cancun-Moon Palace?

Has anyone stayed at the Moon Palace in Cancun? Is this a good place for a honeymoon? How is the beach?

Hi Debbie!

I've been to Cancun twice, and stayed at the Sun Palace and the Cancun Palace. We visited the Moon Palace and had dinner there. The Moon Palace is a beautiful hotel, with a great pool and excellent food, just a poor location. It is, however about 1/2 hour away from the Hotel Zone. If you are looking to be far from the hotel zone than the Moon Palace is great. The beach is NOT nice, all grassy. The pool there is very nice, sort of makes up for the lack of beach. The beach at the Cancun Palace is beautiful as is the Sun Palace beach. The Beach Palace has a VERY small beach. My suggestion, if you want to have the best of both privacy and action. Stay at the Cancun Palace, keep in mind that with the all-inclusive package you can eat, drink, and play at ALL the Palace Resorts. I definately would suggest taking a taxi and spending a day at the Moon Palace, but I remember talking with people that stayed at the Moon Palace and they wished they were closer to everything on the strip. The buses don't even go out that far. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. Best wishes with your wedding.

Debbie-
We booked at the Moon for a trip in April, but changed to the Sun Palace and were VERY glad that we did. The Moon's facilities are very nice EXCEPT the beach. We spent a day there and for the entire day, the dump trucks were hauling sea weed away. The water was brackish and smelled. The pool does make up for this, but we were happier with the Sun (it's on the hotel zone bus route and it had fewer kids that the Moon). The beach at the Sun is wonderful, with just a few rocks that you learn to step around. Service, housekeeping, everything else at the Sun was very nice.

Have fun!

Hi! My wife and I stayed at the Cancun Palace. We loved it! It was very clean. The beach was great. We are going back in November. I think this will be a great place for you to stay for your honeymoon! I was happy with the all-inclusive aspect of it. We saved so much money! You get two tours per person with a 5 or more night stay! The tours range in price from $60-$70 per person. We saved $240 right there! If you haven't booked yet, I would book with an online agent. I got a quote from a local agent and it was $1000 more than I am paying to go back in November! We used:
www.cancunparadise.webprovider.com
